We are pleased to announce the expansion of the Science in Society Knowledge Community into Common Ground’s Interdisciplinary Social Sciences Knowledge Community. This innovative merger provides community members with an extended academic network and greater interdisciplinary interaction, as well as opportunities to publish within the Interdisciplinary Social Sciences Collection of journals. Will the name of the International Journal of Science in Society change?

No. International Journal of Science in Society will retain its name. However, it will now be considered a themed journal within the Interdisciplnary Social Sciences Collection.
 

Will the ISSN number to the International Journal of Science in Society change?

No. International Journal of Science in Society will retain its current ISSN number.
 

Will I still be able submit a new article for consideration in International Journal of Science in Society?

Yes. Since International Journal of Science in Society will be considered a themed journal of the Interdisciplinary Social Sciences Collection, you may submit an article for consideration directly in this journal. All unspecified articles will be considered for the Social Sciences Collection in general and will be assigned a specific journal within the collection upon acceptance by the peer reviewers.
 

I currently have an active article submission with the Science in Society Community. Will this allow me to publish to any journal in the Social Sciences Collection?

Yes. If your article fits better in a different themed journal within the Social Sciences Collection, the Community Editor will move it into another journal, unless you would prefer to be published in International Journal of Science in Society.
 

Will my existing membership to the Science in Society Knowledge Community transfer to the Interdisciplinary Social Sciences Community?

Existing members of the Science in Society Knowledge Community will retain their membership to the Science Community throughout the duration of their original membership terms, including online access to the International Journal of Science in Society. Any new membership renewals received will be applied to the Social Sciences Community.
 

Am I eligible for a Returning Member Registration to the 2016 Social Sciences Conference if I am a Science community member?

Yes. Existing Science in Society community members are eligible to register for the 2016 Social Sciences Conference with a Returning Member Registration.
